Henry Knox
(1750-1806)Henry Knox was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 25, 1750. He took care of his mother who had been deserted by his father, and in 1772 joined the Boston Grenadier Corps.

John Paul Jones During the War
During the Revolutionary War, John Paul Jones successfully captured british merchant ships and privateer ships. He also helped the war effort by attacking the british ports and also attaching the british ships. In 1779, he was promoted and given command of the Bonhomme Richard. He faced the British warship HMS Seraspis on September 23,1779, in the Battle of Flamborough Head. Jones's ship sank during the battle, but the British surrendered in the end.
